electric water kettles left on cause fire?
I have an electric water kettle at work..If it is left on and forgotten to be turned off, will the kettle go on fire or does the heating element just fade out and not work anymore? Some of my co-workers go bonkers if someone does not stand over the kettle until it is boiled and then turn it off. I say that it will just destroy the heating element and won’t go on fire. Of course I realize it is better to turn it off and remember that you are using the kettle. Does anyone agree with me or am I just annoyed at the panic that one of my coworker’s goes into..She has signs all over reminding everyone of this situation..
Most electric kettles automatically switch off when the water boils
