I’m looking for a quiet tea kettle because I’m going to college and I’m an early riser, I don’t want my kettle to bother my room mate who may still be asleep when I wake up. I bought an electric tea kettle thinking it would be quieter than my stove top kettle. It makes an awful loud gurgling type noise before it even reaches a boil. I would just like something that won’t bother my room mate.
So, are there electric kettles that don’t make that noise. It’s difficult to describe.

If it takes 2.80min for the water to reach a boil, what volume of water, in cm^3 , was in the kettle? Stainless steel is mostly iron, so you can assume its specific heat is that of iron.

Ok so, 2 years ago I moved into my new home. I’ve never had any problems and weird experiences in my old home but this new house.. guh. So my computer turns itself on at 3am exactly then off 3 min after being on, and I wake up everytime it turns on even though it doesn’t make a sound and this happends 3 times a month (something with 3s here..). And one time my space heater turned on and off in sync with the computer and its plugged into a different socket so its not an electrical problem. I have walked into the kitchen at 1am ish and the electric kettle turns on and its already very very hot (almost to a boil).I’ve seen my computer chair spin itself around, and sometimes my pop cans are crushed for no reason. My brother hears voices and has claimed someone running down the stairs when he’s alone in basement late at night. And one time him and his friend ran up from the basement at 2 am shacking and terrified because there was loud violent banging on the wall in the basement and when they where upstairs panicing to us, the banging happened again. There are also little things like ill turn light off and next time I turn it on fan turns on with it (cieling fan) and other times I’ve turned my plug in fan on and its on rotate mode instead of still. Is it possible my home is haunted? I definitely belive in ghosts, demons and spirits but I don’t know about my house..

i have had my kettle for 3 years. its a quiet boil kettle. my problem being it is not anymore! it is soo loud i actually get scared and stand by the door expecting it to explode or something! is this normal for a rapid boil kettle or is it time to buy a new one?

it pops and bangs soooo loud when its heating up I half expect it to fracture the stainless steel shell!

anyone got any info on quiet boil kettles that ARE quiet! i don’t want to buy a new one for it to be just as loud. kind of defeating the object.
